The Rover 800 series was co-developed with the Honda group, development work taking place at Rover’s Canley plant and Honda’s Tochigi development centre. the range debuted in 1986 with the Honda model entitled Legend. The European Legend was manufactured alongside the Rover at Canley while the US market Acura (Legend) was built in Japan.
The range was heavily facelifted in 1992 with a re-skin and reintroduction of the Rover grille.
At the same time the Coupe joined the range, originally developed for the US market but never sold there. The 2.0 litre M16 engine was replaced with the more powerful T16 engine again as a 4 cylinder 16 valve multi point injected engine which was turbo-charged in the Vitesse from 1996

Car keys have gotten pretty complicated…

My first car was a 1987 Acura Legend and that key could be replicated at any hardware store…

My second car was a 1998 Honda Accord which had the computer chip inside the key so a replicated key could get you through the door, but not start up the ignition…

My third and current car, a 2005 BMW 3 series, has a key that… i can’t even explain the pattern… pretty cool though…
